Human-Centered Tech? It’s Real, and I Believe it’s Why We Were Just Named a Leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for DEX Management Tools

Digital Employee Experience (DEX)

I wasn’t the only one at ControlUp who was thrilled when I read that we’d been named one of only a handful of Leaders in first-ever Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Digital Employee Experience Management Tools.

This is a remarkable recognition, for us, and I’m very proud of our team.

But I will let you in on something: I didn’t have to wait for the Magic Quadrant for DEX Management Tools to be released to feel this energy!

Why? I’ve been paying attention to the Gartner Peer Insights™ rolling in over the past several months. Not only have they been wonderfully positive, but there’s a clear theme: these peers notice that we care about people.

The tech space is so prone to Shiny Object Syndrome and chasing the next win that the industry tends to forget who we’re all doing this for.

After all, what good is leading-edge tech if it isn’t making someone’s day better, someone’s job better, someone’s life better?

I see our placement in the Magic Quadrant the same way I see those peer insights: as recognition that we’re creating leading-edge tech and doing it in a way that keeps people at the very center.

Of course, we care about quantifiable metrics. Our whole platform centers on true real-time visibility with precise analysis and remediation. But we aren’t impressed by the stats alone. We want to hear about what those stats mean—what the solution has achieved for our customers.

What was the actual cost avoidance?

How much did your problem identification and mean time to resolution decrease?

Did it make IT’s jobs easier?

Was there positive feedback on the employee experience with their digital platform?

What insights were achieved to help create a better service?

We really want to know, and customers tell us because we’ve built a foundation of trust and partnership. We pay attention, we listen, and then we work to make things even better. That goes for constructive feedback, and it also goes for wins.

The same applies here. We’re genuinely excited about the recognition of being named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant. It’s a win for us. We’re paying attention, we’re listening…and then we’ll get back to work to make things even better.
